Hauz Khas<\/p><\/div>\n

In the final chapter of Delhi Heritage Walks\u2019 series, today our destination is Hauz Khas. The Hauz Khas village in South Delhi is home to a lot of manicured gardens and medieval structures that are relevant to Delhi\u2019s cultural image. Besides, there are a lot of art galleries, curio shops and antique shops. The landscaped Green Park and the huge water tank and a beautiful mausoleum constitute the entire Deer park. This heritage sight<\/span> has also been featured in a number of Bollywood movies.<\/p>\n

The History<\/p>\n

The water tank and a madarsa<\/span> were first built by Alauddin Khaliji in 14th<\/span><\/sup> century<\/span>. After years of decay, the tank was renovated by Firoz Shah of the Tughlaq dynasty. The Alam ka Gumbad was built in the 16th<\/span><\/sup> century<\/span> by Abu Sayed during the Lodi regime<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The Walk<\/p>\n
